These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of HSR – Hungarian State Railways Simulation (the "Service"). The Service provider is:

2Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, signing in through Roblox OAuth, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.

3Eligibility and Age

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service in the EEA, unless your Member State permits a lower digital age of consent (not below 13) and all legal requirements are met.

Where parental or guardian consent is required by law, you may use the Service only if such consent has been validly obtained.

4Account Registration – Roblox OAuth

The primary authentication method is Roblox OAuth 2.0. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activities performed through your account. You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or applicable law.

5Discord Account Linking

Access to protected Service features (e.g. duty system, exams, schedule, wiki, admin panels) requires linking your Discord account registered on the HSR Discord server.

The roles you hold on the HSR Discord server determine which features and permissions you have access to within the platform. Roles are managed exclusively on the Discord server by authorized staff.

6Permission and Role System

The platform uses a priority-based permission system (0–100 scale). Higher-priority roles grant broader access. Permissions are mapped to 20 defined flags covering duty, scheduling, supervision, admin functions, and more.

In-platform permissions update automatically based on Discord roles (every 60 seconds). Some permissions can be individually overridden by an administrator.

7Prohibited Conduct

You must not:

  • Use the Service for unlawful, fraudulent, or abusive activities
  • Attempt unauthorized access to other accounts, systems, or data
  • Interfere with Service availability, security, or integrity
  • Use automated methods to extract or scrape data without permission
  • Impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation
  • Deliberately circumvent or manipulate the duty system, exams, training, or schedules
  • Distribute malicious code, spam, or harmful content within the Service

8Weekly Obligations and Strike System

Users holding certain roles (e.g. Train Driver, Dispatcher, and related roles) are required to meet a weekly duty minimum.

  • Users who fail to meet the weekly minimum automatically receive a WeeklyDutyStrike.
  • Accumulated strikes may result in loss of privileges or account suspension.
  • Strikes can be contested through the DutyAppeal system.
  • Advance exemptions can be requested (e.g. for holiday or illness) via an administrator.
  • Exemptions (WeeklyDutyExemption) cover specific date ranges and require admin approval.

9Training Attendance

Users with Trainee and related statuses are required to attend scheduled training sessions.

  • Absence results in a TrainingStrike.
  • Repeated unexcused absences may result in more serious consequences (e.g. suspension or demotion).
  • The training instructor informs participants of expectations and consequences.

10Exam System Rules

Exams are conducted under rules set by the administrator. By participating in an exam, you accept the following:

  • Browser tab switching, window switching, and application focus loss are prohibited and automatically recorded (ExamViolation).
  • An administrator may force-stop the exam at any time.
  • Multiple violations may result in exam invalidation (VIOLATION status) and sanctions.
  • Exam results (score, status, answers) are permanently stored and may be used for eligibility decisions.
  • Exam images and uploaded content are stored on Cloudflare R2.

11Wiki and Content

The Wiki section can only be edited by users with the MANAGE_WIKI administrator permission. Content published on the platform (articles, images, descriptions) is the intellectual property of HSR Games.

Do not upload, publish, or share third-party copyrighted content, personal data, or infringing material.

12Support and Communication

The support ticket system must be used for genuine issues and questions. Abusive, deliberately misleading, or spam submissions may result in account suspension.

You agree to receive strictly necessary service notices (e.g. security, account, and legal notifications). Optional communications (e.g. newsletters) are sent only with your consent.

13Mobile Application

The iOS and Android mobile application communicates with the web platform via OAuth 2.0.

  • Mobile access tokens are valid for 7 days; refresh tokens for 90 days.
  • Tokens are stored in the device's secure storage (SecureStore).
  • On a 401 error, the mobile app automatically attempts to refresh the token.
  • The iOS Live Activity feature displays active duty data in real time on the notification surface.
  • App versions (.apk, .ipa) are distributed through Cloudflare R2 storage.

14Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if:

  • you materially breach these Terms,
  • you create a legal or security risk, or
  • you engage in misuse of the Service.

Where reasonably possible, we will provide notice and an opportunity to remedy the issue. You may stop using the Service at any time and request account deletion under the Privacy Policy.

15Privacy and Data Protection

Personal data processing is governed by our Privacy Policy. You will find there the purposes and legal bases for processing, your GDPR rights, retention periods, international data transfers, and security safeguards.

16Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, the Service – including software, branding, and content – is owned by HSR Games or its licensors and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, revocable right to use the Service for its intended purpose.

17Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without express or implied warranties. We do not exclude liability where exclusion is prohibited by law, including liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, or gross negligence.

18Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms for legal, security, or operational reasons. For material changes, we will provide reasonable advance notice via the Service and/or email. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

19Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Hungary, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections applicable in your country of residence.

For disputes, you may first contact us at [email protected] to attempt an informal resolution. You also retain the right to contact a competent court or supervisory authority under applicable law.

20No-Refund Policy for Donations

All donations and support payments made through the platform are voluntary contributions intended to fund server costs, development, and community events. Once a payment is processed and confirmed, it is final and non-refundable.

By completing a donation, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • (a) the payment is a voluntary contribution, not a purchase of goods or services;
  • (b) no refunds, chargebacks, or reversals will be issued except as required by applicable law;
  • (c) if you believe an error has occurred, you must contact us within 48 hours of the transaction via support.

Google AdSense ads may be displayed to users who have not reached Supporter status. These ads are used solely to fund platform operation and development costs.
